Successful industrial rescue thanks to Laser Cheval: 70,000 luxury industry parts saved!

The Haute-Saône-based company Laser Cheval recently carried out a spectacular industrial rescue operation for one of its customers in the luxury sector. Faced with a production run of 70,000 brass parts destined to be thrown away because of a manufacturing defect (a faulty protective stud), Laser Cheval put its expertise to good use to find an innovative and invisible solution.

The customer, a subcontractor to the luxury goods industry, called for help last May. After several weeks of study and testing, the Laser Cheval team opted to add a laser-welded intermediate washer between the stud and the brass part. This technique, at the heart of the company's expertise, strengthens the stud without altering the aesthetics of the part, which has a gold finish. A special tool was even developed in-house to guarantee the precision of the soldering.

Florence Py, Head of Sales Administration at Laser Cheval, emphasises the advantages of laser welding in this particular case: no molten material is added, the process is fast and, above all, there is no heating up, which preserves the appearance of the parts.

Thanks to Laser Cheval's intervention, the stock of 70,000 parts was saved, limiting the economic impact for the customer and satisfying the end customer. Since the beginning of September, two operators have been taking it in turns to deliver 5,000 parts a week, ensuring that the order can be met by the end of 2024.

Emric Verwaerde, Managing Director of Laser Cheval, is delighted with this success: "The objective has been achieved, the stock of 70,000 parts has been saved, the economic impact is limited for our customer and the end customer is satisfied, despite the delay in carrying out the order.

Located in the Plantes area of Marnay, Laser Cheval employs around forty people and specialises in the production of high-precision laser machines and solutions for industry. This rescue operation highlights the expertise and capacity for innovation of this Haute-Saône-based company.
